Darren has proven expertise in project visioning, cultural and business planning, audience development, community engagement strategies and sustainable project delivery. At Barker Langham, he leads the company’s work across its strategic and business planning portfolio.

Darren focuses on identifying innovative solutions for cultural projects. He has worked extensively in the UK and the Middle East as well as in Hong Kong, Albania and Gibraltar. He is an expert adviser and mentor to the UK Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) and a leading consultant on HLF schemes across the UK. Darren also lectures on cultural and business planning at Southampton University. He is a Trustee of a charity promoting food culture and heritage.

Prior to establishing Barker Langham, Darren worked for the HLF, assessing and providing advice for a range of cultural schemes. He also managed cultural services for local authorities at Director level.
