The Trent Vale is a large and relatively unknown section of the River Trent, stretching from Gainsborough in the north to the south of Newark. The Trent Vale Landscape Project is a vibrant partnership of many organisations, including local authorities, trusts, community groups, wildlife organisations and government agencies.
Barker Langham helped the partnership create strategic plans to support their major application to the Heritage Lottery Fund. The plans looked at the development of the Old Willow Works in Beckingham, the creation of an audience development strategy for the area, and pulling together a solid vision for the project’s future.
The submitted plans worked and the funds were awarded. The project will now deliver a range of activities that will engage thousands of people in understanding and enjoying the Trent Vale.
“Barker Langham’s work added the depth we needed for our detailed application to the lottery,” says project manager Rob Fitzsimons. “The wide understanding of cultural heritage projects and audiences was instrumental in our success.”
